They still exist, the great barnfinds. Perhaps half of the German Porsche community was sitting in front of their televisions and watched a German TV show about a junk crew (RTL II, Trödeltrupp), who found a ’64 901 with the VIN 300057 at a barn close to Potsdam, Germany. They sold the half complete and half original car to the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen for 107.000€. It will take at least 1500 man hours and lots of euros for the almost unobtainable parts before the car is finished. It will get a special place in the Porsche Museum.
We published a Dutch news item on the barn find on this website, which can be found here. The car was also featured in the Dutch RS Porsche Magazine, you can download the article here.
